I created a 50 foot mural that wraps around the viewer on three walls and explores the current effects of climate change across Canada. It’s inspired by imagery from my travels to different regions of Canada. I combined a melting glacier from Alberta, burnt forests from BC, sea ice from Nunavut, and architecture from Ontario.

Bio:
Canadian artist Amy Shackleton (Oshawa, ON) investigates humans’ ecological impact on natural and manufactured landscapes through acrylic painting. Rather than using conventional brushes, Shackleton drips liquid paint from squeeze bottles as the canvas is rotated to navigate. Urban architecture and nature are juxtaposed to question our future — be it utopian or apocalyptic.
