Kaycee and I decided to celebrate our 11th year Wedding Anniversary on a cruise. We've been on several with one another already prior to having Derrick and Dustin. We definitely missed it and realized that it was time to get back into it. What made it even more fitting was the fact that the Carnival Radiance is the same ship we took our first cruise together on, Carnival Victory.
Carnival Victory had gone through a refurbishment in 2021, costing $200 million. It was then renamed the Carnival Radiance. It originally docked in Puerto Rico, having the Southern Caribbean itinerary. The Radiance now leaves off of Long Beach, CA. We were so excited to revisit our first cruise ship together and see all the major changes they've made.
This was a 3 day cruise to Ensenada, Baja Mexico. We had such a blast. Deon, the cruise director, was undoubtedly the best cruise director we've ever had. He made the weekend just perfect.
We tried to do as much as we can on board the ship, such as the SkyCourse, and get our dose of entertainment with the Punchliner Comedy Club and musical shows.
We also took a Highlights tour of Ensenada that included the blow hole in La Bufadora, Riviera Del Pacífico, wine and tequila tasting.
Little did we know that taking this cruise only jump started our affinity for cruising this year. We took 3 more Mexico cruises after this! Stay tuned.
