False friends, we've all had them and I think we can all agree they're the worst 🐍🐍

But what happens when you come across them in language learning? Don't worry, your German course isn't going to spread nasty rumours behind your back. Allow us to explain:

Did you know that German and English are actually sister languages? Both languages belong to the family of Germanic languages. On the one hand, this can be really helpful, because you can easily guess the meaning of many words. One the other hand, you have to be careful because there are many words that may look similar but actually have completely different meanings: “false friends”!👀
