KAOS Music Centre Product Specialist Ryan Jenkins takes a detailed look at the Vox TB35 C1, a fantastic new amp designed in conjunction with famed American amp-builder Tony Bruno.
For those who aren't aware, Tony Bruno began building vintage-inspired amps in the '90s, personally designing, building and even live gig-testing each amp before leaving the shop. His amps are reknowned for being rich and musical sounding and an absolute joy to play (in addition to being pretty pricey!).
Tony's relationship with Vox began when he was asked to help design the Limited Edition Hand-Wired AC30 in 2002-03, and he went on to help design the Night Train, AC30C2, AC15C1, AC30HW2, & AC15HW1. Eventually he was asked to design his own amp to be mass produced by Vox, and the results were the TB35C1 and C2 and the TB18C1.
Based on classic American tones, the TB35C1 features 6V6 output tubes (a first for Vox), Hi and Low inputs, tube-driven reverb and a single Celestion G12-65 12" speaker.
