March 2020 we fell asleep in one world and woke in another.
We took the time to observe the simple and ponder upon the seemingly insignificant to find a wealth of depth and beauty within home and family.
We often traveled these streets blinded by the shimmer to only see the glitter of the new and desired.
But little did we know as we ventured out into silence would we begin to listen.
Little did we know as the lights began to dim we would start to see clearer.
Little did we know as the doors began to shut we would start opening to new possibilities.
Little did we know as the streets began to block we would begin to revisit old paths and create new tracks.
It was in this moment the world paused with fear of the unknown with fear of what tomorrow would bring.
We began searching for answers we began looking inward.
What is my purpose in this precious life? We would ask the callous void.
What if I told you that you fulfilled it when you took an extra hour to talk to that kid about his life.
Or when you paid for that young couple in the restaurant.
Or when you saved that dog in traffic.
Or when you held the door open for a stranger not because it was your job.
Your problem is that you equate your purpose with goal-based achievements.
The universe isn't interested in your achievements just your heart.
When you choose to act out of kindness compassion and love you are already aligned with your true purpose.
And this is why we love our city so much it is a city of givers, a city of creators, a city of heart.
This is our forever home.
Together we are united.
Together we are essential.
Together we are love.
We will forever remember the lessons learned.
We will forever remember those no longer with us.
We will forever be grateful for this precious life.
