After Pat Garrett kills Billy the Kid, Billy's look-alike Roy Rogers arrives and is mistaken for him. Despite being a murderer, Billy was actively against large ranchers, protecting the homesteaders. Now, with Rogers in town, he seeks to continue Billy's fight, but without violence.
