In this video, we'll be going over how to convert molecular formula into empirical formula.
We first start by discussing what empirical formula is. Empirical is the most reduced form of a molecular formula.
Then we go through six practice problems together step by step. To turn molecular formula into empirical formula, divide all the subscripts in the molecular formula by a number so you get the smallest whole numbers. We'll start with a simple practice problem. Then we'll move into some tricky ones. Lastly, we end with a complicated looking problem.
By the of this video, you'll be able to convert any molecular formula into its empirical formula.
