Jeremy Corbyn told Johnson he must comply with the law and the SNP’s leader, Ian Blackford, warned that if the prime minister did not do so, he would find himself in court. The Lib Dem leader, Jo Swinson, asked for parliament to be suspended so that Johnson could send a letter asking the EU for a suspension and then come back to parliament and confirm that he has sent it
