A while back I built up a set of irons at 3 different lengths as an alternative experiment to the "single-length" iron concept that has been around for ages and more recently made available by Cobra.
My theory is that at a single length, the long irons will fly too short and short iron will fly too far. My idea is to have 3 iron length as follows 1) 4-6 irons at 37", 2) 7-9 irons at 36", and 3) PW, SW at 35". This will give me a bit better yardage gaps and also not as radical a move with super short long irons and super long short irons in the single length design.
The iron set is a Power Play Caiman X2 Tour Blade with Rifle 7.0 and the lie angles have not been adjusted so I have to swing flatter otherwise I'd be hitting a lot of fades.
Results are pretty impressive - I have nearly the same yardages but a lot more consistent swings!
