This puff pastry mushroom and onion pies recipe is quick to make, perfect for a brunch or for entertaining.
Simple with only 5 ingredients and delicious can be adapted by your taste with some thyme or a little bit of balsamic vinegar. It can be served with a side of green salad and a glass of white wine.
Ingredients:
1 puff pastry sheet (400g)
300g mushrooms
2 small onions
salt and black pepper to taste
Directions:
1.Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add vegetable oil and then add mushroom slices. Cook for about 2-3 minutes.
2.Add the onion slices, season with salt and ground black pepper and cook for about 10-15 minutes stirring frequently.
3.Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
4.Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5.Unfold puff pastry and cut the dough into 4 pieces. Top with mushroom and onion mixture.
6.Press the edges together to seal and transfer pies to the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crisp.
