The Seven Years War was a turning point in European history. The traditional European superpowers of France and Austria faced off against two European underdogs, Britain and Prussia. Both these rivalries would be largely decided in this war. Would Britain be able to destroy the French colonial empire, paving the war for British global hegemony? And would Austria be able to crush Prussia, take back Silesia, and return to their natural state of hegemony over the German states.
