In the fourth part of our heart mini-series, Conor takes you through the blood vessels that supply blood to and drain blood away from the heart muscle.
The blood flowing through the chambers of the heart is not enough on its own to supply nutrition to the bulky heart muscle. Instead, the heart requires its own unique vasculature that fills during diastole to supply the relaxing atria and ventricles. Learn the distribution of the coronary arteries, coronary sinus, left anterior descending artery and much more in this short tutorial.
