The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) is an allegorical novella written by French aviator and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900–1944), first published in 1943.

The Little Prince tells the story about a young boy who leaves his small planet in order to travel the universe. During his journey to the Earth and further, he learns the moodiness of the adult behavior through a series of extraordinary encounters.

The Little Prince is the most translated book in the French language and the fourth most-translated book in the world. Translated into more than 250 languages and dialects with sales totaling over 140 million copies worldwide, it has become one of the best-selling books ever published.
