NOTES
Ai-AE Text_Images: Ideal for exporting vectors to be used as shapes as well as text to be converted to editable text
- save as Ai - open in After Effects
- notice the layers are labeled the same
- convert vector to shapes to get complete control
- you cannot convert text - to do that
- Ai: Export as PSD. Export with only text layer selected at 72 dpi (we'll come back to this)
- Text is not placed correctly
- Enable a solid below to get the right dimensions - export
- Text is placed correctly - After Effects needs something to define the comp's parameters.
- Enabling a solid will ensure that the text is placed properly in the comp
- Now you can convert to editable text, change font, color, etc.
- Export at 150 dpi
- Notice the comp is too large now, so remember 72 dpi
PS-Ae Text_Images: Ideal for exporting text only for use in Ae as editable text
- Images are not convertable to shapes, so this method isn't useful when you need to manipulate your images
