In this episode, we speak in Spanish about the life of Pedro Almodóvar, the most famous and most eccentric of Spanish filmmakers!
Anyone who is at all familiar with Spanish cinema is likely to have heard Almodóvar's name at least once. This director's films have had a huge influence over the past 40 years, changing the face of Spain's movie scene with films that both shock and draw in the viewer at the same time.
Coming into filmmaking after the death of Franco, he became internationally recognised as the face of the 'Movida Madrileña', a movement known for its freedom of expression and shock factor. So many years later, the director continues to make fantastic films, with 'Dolor y Gloria' winning many awards at this year's Goya Awards.
Hear about his main influences and in detail about some of his most notable films, plus a lot more!
