Welcome to a new episode of Photo Walks! I headed downtown Toronto with my Sony a6300 and a 50mm f1.8 lens to take some street photos. It's been a while since I took my digital camera out to shoot because I've been shooting a lot of film during quarantine so it felt great to get back out there. It was also the first time I've been in Toronto since March 13th so it was nice being in the city again.
The streets were still really empty compared to how crowded they normally are and this had some advantages and some disadvantages. I don't like when there's a lot of random people in my photos because I feel like it take away from the subject but with the empty streets it was a lot easier to get an isolated subject in the photos. It was also way easier to run into the street and get those low angle shots. The lack of people in the streets also made it a bit challenging so I had to be more patient waiting for people to walk into the frame or have no one in the frame at all.
Either way, other than my car breaking down, I had fun and I hope you enjoyed the POV style and learned something from my editing process!
Thanks for watching!
