The song was written to the words of the poetess Olga Zhuravleva by the composer Alexander Voitinsky, who thus expressed his negative attitude towards the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. In 2004, Voitinsky said that "we shamefully refrained from participating in the war", mentioning that he himself wanted to go to Yugoslavia, but was afraid of being killed. The meaning of the song, according to him, is that he "apologized for being such a coward".
