Storm damage was surveyed in parts of Galveston, Texas, on Monday, July 8, after Storm Beryl moved through the region.
Footage captured by Nancy Kitchel shows extensive flooding around homes and a downed avocado tree on her property in Galveston late Monday morning.
City officials warned locals to stay home, adding that there was “substantial debris” and downed power lines on roadways.
Warnings for damaging winds, flash flooding, and storm surge were in effect for the Houston and Galveston areas throughout Monday, according to the National Hurricane Center.
