In a major breakthrough amid the continuing manhunt, 'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh was arrested by Punjab Police from the Moga district of Punjab on Sunday. He has been on the run ever since a police crackdown against him and members of his outfit 'Waris Punjab De' on March 18. While his aides say that Amritpal Singh planned to surrender to the police, cops say his arrest was the result of a well-coordinated operation. Punjab Police said the police had surrounded the gurudwara and the village and Amritpal Singh had no option but to come out. Cops say they did not enter the gurudwara out of respect.
