Based on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, this mycologist is fascinated by all things fungi. In his laboratory you can find Pestalotiopsis Microspora - a fungi that can break down and digest polyurethane (plastic).

We ask whether this could ever be a sustainable solution to plastic waste and pollution around our planet.
