GAMBAS PIL PIL
(King prawns in garlic and chili oil)
Prep time:- 10 minutes
Cooking time:- 10 minutes (pre-heated oven 180 deg)
Serves up to 6 persons along with a selection of tapas.
(For an individual portion as a starter, use around 6-7 prawns in a smaller dish with smaller
quantities)
Equipment needed:- 1 x 8” terra-cotta bowl
Ingredients:-
200g of raw shelled king prawns
6tbs olive oil
1tbs tomato purée
1tbs white wine
2 cloves fresh garlic finely sliced
1tsp ground dried garlic
1tbs parsley (fresh or dried)
Half tsp smoked paprika (no more than this)
3 whole chilies (to taste, fresh or dried)
Salt and pepper to taste.
Method,-
Place all the ingredients into the terra-cotta bowl and mix well.
Place the bowl into the oven and cook until the prawns have turned completely pink and the oil is
sizzling.
This can be prepared in advance and refrigerated until use.
If you want to use ready cooked prawns, heat the oil mix first and add the prawns until heated
through.
Serve with a selection of tapas
