Join me for a garden tour of our Potager Style kitchen garden from July 12, 2020. This is week 8 of our growing season (last frost date May 15). We have lots of tomatoes growing but are still waiting for the first ones to ripen. A few of the larger tomatoes appear to have blossom end rot (probably from the humid weather when they were growing fast). Our squash tunnel is looking great and is almost completely covered in green! The angel hair spaghetti squash is growing lots of fruit. Our one zucchini plant is producing about one per day. The eggplants and peppers are finally looking really healthy after transplant shock and are setting some fruit.
Our Brassica bed is another story...as it's being eaten by rabbits. We are building a low fence to go around this bed (please excuse the construction noise in the background of this tour). Most types of lettuce are still going strong, although the Flashy Trout Back and Vulcan lettuce are bolting so those will get pulled out. Onions and Potatoes are almost ready to harvest. Overall everything is looking good!
