Students in Uvalde, Texas, returned to classes on Tuesday (September 6) for the first time since a gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School killing 19 students and two teachers in May.
Students who formerly attended Robb Elementary have been reassigned to three different elementary schools.
But for some of them, nightmares won't simply go away, even in a new environment.
"If something is burning he freaks out because he says they reminds him of the gun", said one parent.
The same fears are felt by many across the United States, which has seen a string of mass killings at schools over the years including those at Sandy Hook Elementary, Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School and Columbine High School.
