When we asked 7,000 nursing students how prepared they felt for NextGen, just 30% said they think they will be ready when the time comes - another 48% said “kill me now” or “i know a couple things about it” :
When we asked nurse educators, just 1 . . . only 1 said they felt like they were prepared. The rest said things like “i am dreading it” - “they’ve given us nothing”
In this video I am going to show you why everything we thought about nursing education MUST change for the new reality of NextGen NCLEX.
And why you shouldn’t worry about being prepared for both the NextGen NCLEX and your life as a “ real nurse”
It is projected that a total of 1.2M new RNs will be needed by 2030 to address the current shortage.
In one recent study, it was found that the total supply of RNs decreased by more than 100,000 from 2020 to 2021 – which represents the largest drop ever recorded over the past four decades - with the largest drop occurring in nurses under 35.
“A sustained reduction in the number of younger age RNs would raise ominous implications”
In other words - not only are we not closing the nursing shortage gap . . . it is actually growing.
Without an industry wide innovation along the entire nursing journey - we are on a collision course with an ominous nursing shortage.
