1.85:1 (Anamorphic)
Ratcatcher is presented in its original 1.85:1 theatrical aspect ratio in a beautiful anamorphic transfer taken from the 35mm interpositive. While the majority of the film is photographed in earth tones—grays and browns dominate, from the sky to the buildings—there are also moments of luminous color, particularly the scene in which James romps through the golden-hued cornfields beneath an almost impossibly blue sky. These scenes are beautifully reproduced with strong color saturation and a good level of detail that still maintains a pleasing hint of film grain.
