An advance team for the two-thousand strong monitoring force from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe arrived in Pristina on Monday (19/10). After meeting in the capital, they drove off to one of the many remote villages in the troubled province for their first monitoring mission. KLA fighters were keeping a watchful eye on Serb positions on Monday following reports that Serb tanks had rumbled into Kisna Reka, where 3,000 refugees live in a makeshift mountain camp. NATO Secretary General, Javier Solana met French Defence Minister Alain Richard in Paris to discuss the deployment of observers.
