Quelle Chris delivers one of the best put-together, thought-provoking, political-themed hip-hop projects with his new album "Guns". Topics of gun-control, white supremacy, gun violence and the black experience in America are thoroughly discussed. Quelle is able to rap continuously about a specific topic while keeping the attention of the listener. His lyrics can be straightforward and serious while also balancing satire within the same verse. What really blew me away was how descriptive and metaphorical his lyricism can be while also being consistent with some insane rhyme schemes.

Throughout the album, Quelle switches up the style of the songs while still making sure that each track flows with the project. There are songs on here where the production is very experimental and brash while other songs flow very smoothly and give off a "chill" sentiment. There are beats on here that are reminiscent of Danny Brown's "Atrocity Exhibition" and then others that are so slow and soul-inspired. Quelle also uses his voice to shift different moods throughout the album.

The features on here also do the project justice, most notably Denmark Vessey and Mach-Hommy.

All in all, this is a fantastic, well-put together album that sticks to its theme, while not sounding redundant at all. Definitely a top 10 album for me this year.
