Pros and Cons to getting a TURBO KIT for your Harley-Davidson. Many of you have reached out to me on here or other social platforms asking me what I think are the pros and cons to adding a turbo kit to a Harley-Davidson, so I figured, why not just make a video covering them.

Now in terms of the pros and cons of turbo charing your Harley-Davidson, well here they are.
PROS
1. The best bang for your buck. The performance you get, dollar per dollar, is unmatched. Building a "built motor" would cost you a significant amount of money if you're using good parts, and you're going to be in the 150hp and 150tq ballpark. To see the 170hp range, you're looking at $12k - $15k big motor builds.
2. Turbos sound amazing! You sound like you're riding around on a fighter jet, it just sounds so badass.
3. The looks of a turbo kit are just sexy AF. Having a turbo kit on your Harley is like a magnet for people to stare. Literally, every, single, stop light, people are staring. Everyone complements how cool it looks and asks what it is. People love to hear them rev.
4. For most bike owners, especially the Twin Cam family, the only way to see some serious horsepower numbers is a turbo kit... unless you're building a drag bike for the street, which isn't going to play nice in traffic or around town.
5. Rideability with a Harley turbo kit is just so easy and smooth. When you want to unleash the beast, it will feel like you have infinite horsepower on tap. And when you just want to cruise or you're in traffic the bike is super chill.
6. Gas milage for me has gone up. A separate video will be coming out soon on it, but I'm gotten better gas milage with having the turbo kit.
CONS
1. The sounds of a turbo kit on a Harley-Davidson is not everyones "cup of tea". Some people prefer the raw engine sounds of the Harley Twin Cams and the M8's.
2. The looks of a Harley turbo kit are not liked by everyone in the community. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
3. The cost of a Harley turbo kit is not cheap if you have a big motor (anything above a 114ci). While stage 1 turbo kits are economical, a stage 2 kit will run you in the ballpark of $10k - $12k depending on if you want something completely custom or not. With that being said, you'll be in the ballpark of 200hp - 220hp depending on the tuner and the supporting mods you used to build your big motor.
