Planning large scale tattoos is a challenge. Traditionally tattooers would design the entire piece, stencil and line in the first sitting. This would be followed by grey shading the entire tattoo and finally color would be applied.
However, over the last several years we have seen a new trend emerge. Artists are finishing areas of the tattoo as they go along leaving surrounding areas completely empty.
There are pros and cons to both methods. In this short episode, we discuss these advantages and disadvantages and offer practical advice on when to apply each approach. Enjoy.
