This is train No.12.004. It is the only SNCB Type 12, steam engine boat train that was preserved out of the six that were built in 1939. Type train is relatively light-weight, rated at a maximum speed of 140 km/h (87mph). Designed by engineer Raoul Notesse, the Type 12 locomotives were produced for the Belgian Consortium of Locomotive `construction that operated between Brussels and Ostende. Its services were finally withdrawn on September 27th, 1962. Type 12 No.12.004 is on display at the Train World railway museum at Schaerbeek (Brussels), Belgium.
