HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. -- Tips from viewers helped Hendersonville police track down a man wanted for murder. Late last night, authorities arrested 32 year old Aaron McArthur on charges of killing Thomas Nelson.
Thursday morning, McArther made his first court appearance on charges of killing Nelson. McArther is also charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.
Wednesday morning, Nelson's family asked police to check on him. Authorities found Nelson tied up and beaten to death inside an apartment on Eastbury Drive.
Police asked the public to help find Nelson's black BMW. Several tips rolled in and officers captured McArthur.
Officer Robert Underwood, Hendersonville Police Department, "all I can say is that I know they were acquaintances, they did know of each other, but any relationship as far as roommate or anything other than that, I'm not sure of."
Investigators say a motive for this murder is unknown. McArthur asked a judge for a court appointed attorney, his next court appearance is scheduled for October 21st. He's being held without bond.
