Try out this easy indian sweet dish /indian dessert using milk and rice. Phirni
Ingredients
1 litre milk
1 cup sugar
5 strand saffron
½ cup soaked basmati rice
1/2 tsp powdered green cardamom
Chopped pistachios
Chopped almonds
Method
1 Bring the milk to a boil. Reduce the heat and let the milk simmer until it reduces a little.
2 Grind the soaked rice to a coarse paste.
3 Add a little milk to it and mix to make it little thinner.
4 Add sugar to the remaining milk and keep boiling.
5 Add the rice paste to the hot milk and stir continuously.
6 Next add the cardamom powder and saffron. Set aside in small matki/bowl.
7 Chill in refrigerator for about 3 - 4 hours.
8 Serve after garnishing it with saffron, pistachios and almonds.
