There are two trains of thought on adding used coffee grounds to soil or compost. 1) is that it will acidify your soil/compost and aid in nutrient absorption, or 2) it will acidify your soil too much and kill off all the biology and your plants. I wanted to put this to the test, so here in part 1 of Does Adding Coffee Grounds Acidify Soil? I present a small experiment comparing the pH of water, aluminum sulphate solution, and used coffee grounds.
