Suzane shares, “We’re some of the first people in the neighborhood, and among our friends, who actually have an electric vehicle so I’m like ‘Do what we did. Please follow our lead,’ because this is great.”
“Discovering SmartCharge, it was like the lightbulb went off. It was this wonderful program where they give you money back for charging your electric vehicle during off hours. Because we do that, it benefits the environment and everybody.”
“Pretty soon it’s gonna be a thing that everybody’s gonna do. If they get an electric car, they sign up for the program, everybody gets paid, and it's fun. It’s a good thing.”
Con Edison is also providing incentives for about 19,000 charging plugs across New York City and Westchester County by the end of 2025. Those will include more than 18,500 Level 2 chargers and 450 direct-current fast chargers.
Be a part of a community of electric-vehicle drivers who are earning rewards for charging at off-peak times (between 12 midnight and 8 am). Charging data is automatically collected from your vehicle’s onboard telematics or smart charging station. The charge data is then used to calculate your rewards.
Charging off-peak helps reduce stress on the energy grid, making service more reliable for everyone.
