Creating a Proactive Healthcare System is not rocket science.
The only constant is change, yet stability is essential in order for any organism to be flexible enough to
adapt to change. Furthermore, the most unexpected and unrelated perspectives can intersect, and if
you pay attention, can prepare you for the unknown. This kind of preparation leads to innovative
thinking and creative solutions to complex problems into the future. I will speak about how my personal
experiences with joyful surprises, opportunities, illness, grief, and professional growth have intersected
with my work as a nurse and nurse faculty to produce new, sustainable solutions to gaps and access
barriers in our healthcare system. I will also talk about how this perspective helps me relate to others,
and prepares me for the future. Dr. Moss is Assistant Dean of Faculty Practice and Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing. She has over 18 years’ experience as an nurse educator and clinician. She currently oversees more than 30 faculty practice community partnerships, teaches and advises DNP and HSM students, and practices one day/week as a nurse practitioner for formerly incarcerated men and women. But her real full time job and greatest joy is raising her three small boys with her husband. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
