The Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine does not contain a live version of the HPV virus, so a person cannot get an HPV infection from the vaccine. The HPV vaccine, similar to many other vaccines, may result in common side effects, such as arm soreness, headache, mild fever, and fainting. Side effects, if any, are usually temporary and mild.
The Society for Women’s Health Research #SWHRtalksHPV Video Series was created to help parents and guardians learn about the HPV vaccine and cancer prevention by sharing facts and insights from immunization experts.
In this video, experts describe the science behind the HPV vaccine and how we know that it is both safe and effective.
