It's been a while since I've done one of these. So, it's time for another Touhou flash game, and this time, it's Spell Typing Carnival!
This game can be found here:

NOTE: A version of this game with more stages than what's shown in this video can be found here:

Well, I've been a little too busy to prepare my next Mario video, and I saw this game pop up on Dagobah not too long ago, so I decided that now would be a good time to try it out and make a video of it.
So, basically, to play, you have to type the words and phrases that appear on screen before they kill you! If you completely type out a word/phrase, it vanishes, and the opponent takes damage. If a word/phrase hits you, you lose a life. You can tell when words/phrases are due to hit you by the bright coloring that fills their boxes' borders from left to right, and when one is completely full, it hits you (so pay no attention to the danmaku effects, as they mean nothing here). If you lose all three lives, it's Game Over (duh), and as far as I know, there's no way to get additional lives (unless it's possible to get 1-ups from points, and you'd need to score higher than what I scored here, but I don't know).
When there are multiple words/phrases on the screen at once, you can start typing any of them, but once you start typing a word/phrase, you must finish that one before moving onto the next one.
Now, successful typing gets you points and increases the point multiplier. If you make mistakes, you won't die, but your point multiplier will decrease. If you're feeling overwhelmed, you can use a bomb by hitting Enter, which will clear all words and phrases from the screen and damage the opponent a bit. You get three bombs per life, and if you die with unused bombs, they're wasted, so it's always better to bomb than to die if you think you can't type a word/phrase in time.
Certain phases of the game seem to act like Touhou spell cards, but the goal is still the same-- Type the words and phrases! Of course, bombing or dying during a "spell" will disqualify you from getting the spell card bonus, just like in a standard Touhou game. However, typos won't kill the spell card bonus on you, so you don't have to be absolutely perfect.
Note that there's also a time limit for each phase, just like in most standard Touhou games, and if that runs out, the current phase ends as if you'd cleared it, but if it was a "spell", you don't get the spell card bonus. Unfortunately, it feels like the time limit just runs out too soon on some phases, so you've really gotta type like a madman to beat the clock at times.
Now, as far as I can tell, there are only two stages. Stage 1 pits you against Cirno, and stage 2's opponent is Tewi. After that, the game just appears to end, as if you got a Game Over. It's almost kind of too bad that the game is so short, but then again, the words were already getting kind of complicated, and it doesn't help that these appear to be romanized Japanese words. I think it would be neat if there was a version of this game that used common English words, but who knows if anyone will bother making such a version...
If anyone has any suggestions for another Touhou flash game for me to play that I haven't already made a video of yet, let me know. However, there are no guarantees. It will kind of depend on whether I like the game enough or not.
Feel free to comment, but just know that I dislike profanity. Any comments containing F-bombs and/or S-bombs will be smacked upside the head with a computer keyboard! (In other words, they'll be deleted.)
