In the US, the hospital system is being strained to breaking point by COVID-19 patients.
Intensive care units have completely run out of room in at least one state, Mississippi.
Even as vaccines are being distributed, major cities such as Los Angeles are also overwhelmed.
And doctors are warning the worst is yet to come.
