Cloudy and slight onshore winds did not deter these surfers from paddling out mid-day at Tamarindo.
Summertime can make it difficult to catch a glassy mid-day surf sesh because the wind switches from offshore to onshore earlier in the day than in the dry season. Although the wind direction was not ideal, the waves were the perfect size for learning. Coming out of low tide the waves became less steep allowing for easier takeoffs. This is a good environment to develop your fundamentals for surfing. The choice of surfboard today is a longboard, preferably a soft top. As you can see in the video, it was the popular choice. Pura Vida!
