How do you find clients for your consulting business?
Most people want linear, mechanical approach to client acquisition.
I like to think more strategically about this, though. Ask yourself:
- Are you clear on who you're talking to?
- Who are you focused on?
- Are you clear of the problem facing that person?
If you're clear on who you're talking to and the problem facing them, then the mechanical process becomes a lot easier.
What I have found is that most people aren't clear about who they're talking to or what problem they solve. Starting there makes the rest of it easier.
