Violence, insecurity, weak institutions and limited access to justice remain a great threat to sustainable development. In response, Member States and the international community have committed to “promote peaceful and inclusive societies, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels” as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is the international lead organization on crime and criminal justice statistics. This video focuses on the work of UNODC related to SDG indicator 16.1.3, and it will be particularly useful for agencies that are involved in the data collection, estimation and reporting of this indicator.
