The spread of the coronavirus has evoked dramatic global disruption as health and governmental agencies struggle to manage and contain the spread of the pandemic. COVID-19 has placed immense burdens on healthcare systems globally. India recorded over 2 lakh fresh cases of coronavirus infections on Wednesday. This is the highest ever since the outbreak. Last year we saw a nationwide lockdown that the government said, was imposed to prepare the infrastructure to fight the pandemic. But old problems are rearing their ugly head again, whether it is lack of hospital beds, or oxygen cylinders, or ambulances.
