In the early 2000's it seemed Judd Apatow had a stranglehold on the comedy scene. But in 2009, his release Funny People seemed to mark a dramatic shift in Judd Apatow's career. He had moved on from the crazy, raunchy comedy, and towards a more personal take on his stories. Today he seems to be a sort of Godfather of Comedy for many up and coming creatives, and maybe that's all we need.
