Part one of a very detailed edition portraying how similar James Cameron's Avatar and Disney's Pocahontas truly are. I am a huge fan of both movies; this project of mine was not intended to bash either film. In fact, it is meant to praise them from a cinematic point-of-view. This was something I wanted to do right after I saw Avatar. Then when my animation art history professor assigned us the task of picking two kinds of animated films with the same theme to write a paper on and accompany it with a project, I thought what two better films than these? I also was privileged to sit with Irene Bedard (the voice of Pocahontas) and discuss the similarities of the films over dinner -a very cool experience. I hope you enjoy this three-part film!
