Great day hike from the center of Sarajevo.
Just 11 km away from the city center.
Come with a car to Hotel Promaha, a wooden cottage, where you can eat homemade food and try a rakia, Bosnian coffee, tea with herbs from this area, and homemade juices.
Hotel Promaha - Skakavac Waterfall 3.8 km (the trail goes through the forest)
Difficulty: easy
Gradually goes uphill and downhill mostly is keeping the altitude.
Recommendation: do a loop walk, go through the forest (you will come below the waterfall) and then just continue with the trail straight uphill to come above the waterfall (there is a viewpoint) and continue down the gravel road back to Hotel Promaha.
If you don't want to go this steep uphill part from a waterfall you can go the opposite direction. First, continue on the wide gravel road from Hotel Promaha and descend to the waterfall and then continue through the forest.
If you don't have a car you can go with a local bus from Sutjeska Street (in the city center, in front of the high school Druga Gimnazija) to the Nahorevo neighborhood (last stop). The ticket is around 2 BAM (1 euro, but you need to have BAM, cash and not big banknote). You're buying a ticket from a driver. Check schedule there on the station in Sutjeska or on the web site: [ Ссылка ]
Translation: Radni Dan (working days), Subota (Saturday), Nedjelja i praznicima (on Sunday and holidays)
From the last station you will see the sign for Skakavac, but just go straight and follow the road. The road is on some parts asphalt and on some gravel.
Recommendation: If you're not alone I would advise you to share a cab to last stop in Nahorevo or if driver wants to drive you to Hotel Promaha. Please note you need to use just legal cabs (with cab sign on the car) and in the car needs to be a taximeter.
