I went backpacking to a favorite brook trout lake in Utah's High Uintas. I had planned on going to a different lake but I got a report from a fellow angler that changed my mind. He informed me that there were still a few of the older fish left. He and a friend had spent two days there and only caught one fish that they weighed at 3.56 lbs. That's a good brook trout anywhere but for the Uintas---an absolute beast! Although I had planned on skipping this particular lake for another year, I'm glad I didn't cause it certainly paid off.
