Activity Flow:
1. Coach starts the action with a pass into the field of play
2. Defending team has been determined beforehand
3. The team in possession of the ball aims to keep the ball as long as possible
4. The defending team tries to gain the ball as soon as possible
5. When the ball is gained, the game continues without a break - the team that loses the ball must now defend (example: red and yellow play against blue, red loses the ball to blue, now blue plays with yellow against red)
6. The trainer plays a new ball into the field whenever it is necessary
7. Either break after a certain number of minutes or when all balls have been lost
Organization:
1. 6 cones and at least 12 bibs
2. Set up an approx. 25x40m field
3. Enough balls next to the coach
4. Divide into three teams of 4 players each (depending on the total number of players)
5. Distribution of tasks and positioning of the teams (here: blue first in the middle, red and yellow in possession of the ball)
6. Optimal positioning of the players as in the image
Coaching Points:
1. Clear the situation as a coach - especially after winning the ball, the players have maximum stress and it can happen that the ball is lost again immediately, so try to calm down and create structure
Movement to create space to receive the ball for yourself or a team mate
2. Awareness / Orientation - Before moving to support the player on the ball check over your shoulder to see where the space, opponents and your teammates are on the field
3. Passing - Speed of the Pass - Quickly to allow team mate to turn, slowly to allow team mate to protect the ball or play one touch)
Accuracy of the Pass - In front if no opponent near, behind if opponent close
Variations:
1. Keep the playing field big at the beginning (better too big than too small).
2. To simplify the exercise, reduce the number of players per team (it is easier when there are fewer active players on the field)
3. Exercise can be simplified by neutral players who always belong to the two teams in possession of the ball
