I got to chat with Will Powers, PR Lead for Razer Inc. Americas, who offered a demo and hardware tour of the Razer Zephyr Pro.
The second generation of Razer's Zephyr mask (originally named Project Hazel) has all the same features as the first-gen, but the Pro model will offer built-in voice amplification.
The Zephyr Pro features Razer's iconic Chroma RGB lighting, totally controllable through Razer's app.
The inside of the mask has a microphone that can amplify the voice of the person wearing it. Razer says it can amplify up to 60 dB to a radius of 1 meter.
There are two intake fans and one exhaust vent and all of them have replaceable filters, which are rated to last for a total of three days of continuous use before they should be replaced. These filters carry a BFE rating of 99% and the filters are easy to replace thanks to removable, magnetic parts.
The comfort of the mask is achieved through silicone straps and a silicone cup where the wearer's face will sit, this also ensures a tight seal around the wearer's nose and mouth.
Razer's Zephyr Pro isn't available to purchase yet, but the Starter Pack, which will include 33 sets of filters, totaling 99 days of continuous usage, will retail for $199. Refill packs will be available as well.
