Cheeky Sea Lion Steals Fisherman's Catch
It was man versus nature in more ways than one during a fishing expedition near Powell River, British Columbia, recently, when Justin Chorney had a fish snatched from his line by an opportunistic sea lion.
Chorney told Storyful he was out fishing with friends about 10 miles from Powell River. A sea lion followed the boat for around 20 to 30 minutes, he said, before it spied its chance. Just as Chorney was reeling in a fish, the sea lion struck and stole it away from him.
Chorney wasn’t too upset at losing the fish, and joked on Twitter he’d just paid a “sea lion tax”.
