Wendy Wasserstein's Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy The Heidi Chronicles made its official Broadway return last night at the Music Box Theatre. Since debuting in 1989, the play has become a cornerstone of feminist works, chronicling the life of art historian Heidi Holland from 1965-1989 — a period when women were just coming into their own as equal players in a male-dominated society. According to the new Broadway company, which features Jason Biggs, Bryce Pinkham, Tracee Chimo, with Elisabeth Moss in the title role, the themes remain just as relevant today as they were 26 years ago. Take a look as TheaterMania chats with the cast, along with their Tony-winning director Pam MacKinnon, after the opening-night performance.
